1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing our website or enrolling in Sterling Finance educational programs, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. These terms constitute a binding agreement between you and Sterling Finance, a financial education provider operating in Singapore.
If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not use our services or website.
2. Definitions
- "Service" or "Services": Financial education courses, programs, and related materials provided by Sterling Finance
- "Participant" or "You": Any individual who inquires about, enrolls in, or attends our courses
- "We," "Us," or "Our": Sterling Finance and its facilitators and staff
- "Course Materials": Educational content, handouts, templates, and resources provided as part of programs
- "Website": The Sterling Finance website and any associated online platforms
3. Eligibility and Enrollment
3.1 Age Requirement
You must be at least 18 years old to enroll in our courses. By enrolling, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
3.2 Enrollment Process
Course enrollment requires:
- Submission of accurate personal information
- Payment of applicable course fees
- Acknowledgment of course prerequisites where applicable
- Agreement to these Terms and Conditions
3.3 Enrollment Confirmation
Enrollment is confirmed only upon receipt of full payment and our written confirmation via email. We reserve the right to refuse enrollment at our discretion.
4. Course Delivery and Participation
4.1 Course Format
Courses are delivered in-person at our Republic Plaza location in Singapore unless otherwise specified. Session schedules are communicated upon enrollment.
4.2 Attendance
While we encourage full attendance for optimal learning, participants are responsible for managing their own schedules. We do not offer make-up sessions for missed classes.
4.3 Course Materials
Course materials are provided for personal educational use only. You may not:
- Reproduce or distribute materials without written permission
- Use materials for commercial purposes
- Share access credentials or course content with non-enrolled individuals
4.4 Certificate of Completion
Participants who attend at least 80% of sessions receive a certificate of completion. This certificate documents program participation but does not constitute professional qualification or licensing.
5. Fees and Payment
5.1 Course Fees
Course fees are stated in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and are due at the time of enrollment unless installment arrangements have been made in writing.
5.2 Payment Methods
We accept payment via bank transfer, credit card, or other methods as specified during enrollment.
5.3 Cancellation and Refund Policy
Participant-Initiated Cancellations:
- More than 14 days before course start: Full refund minus SGD 50 administrative fee
- 7-14 days before course start: 50% refund
- Less than 7 days before course start: No refund
- After course commencement: No refund
Sterling Finance-Initiated Cancellations:
If we cancel a course, you will receive a full refund or option to transfer to a future session.
5.4 Course Transfers
Requests to transfer enrollment to a different course session may be accommodated subject to availability and a SGD 50 transfer fee if requested less than 14 days before the original course start date.
6. Educational Nature and Disclaimers
6.1 Educational Purpose
Our courses provide financial education only. We do not provide:
- Personal financial advice or planning services
- Investment recommendations or portfolio management
- Tax, legal, or accounting advice
- Guaranteed financial outcomes or results
6.2 No Professional Relationship
Participation in our courses does not create a fiduciary, advisory, or professional service relationship. Facilitators share educational content and frameworks, not personalized recommendations.
6.3 Decision Responsibility
You are solely responsible for your financial decisions. We encourage you to:
- Consult licensed professionals for personalized advice
- Conduct your own research before making financial commitments
- Consider your individual circumstances in all decisions
- Understand that past performance does not indicate future results
7. Intellectual Property Rights
7.1 Our Content
All course materials, website content, logos, and educational frameworks are owned by Sterling Finance and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.
7.2 Limited License
Upon enrollment, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use course materials for personal educational purposes only.
7.3 Restrictions
You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from our materials without explicit written permission.
8. Participant Conduct
Participants agree to:
- Treat facilitators and other participants with respect
- Maintain confidentiality of other participants' shared information
- Refrain from disruptive behavior during sessions
- Not record sessions without explicit permission
- Comply with venue rules and regulations
We reserve the right to remove participants who violate these conduct standards without refund.
9. Limitation of Liability
9.1 Service Provided "As Is"
Our educational services are provided on an "as is" basis. We make no warranties regarding specific outcomes or results from course participation.
9.2 Limitation of Damages
To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, Sterling Finance shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services.
9.3 Maximum Liability
Our total liability for any claims arising from your participation in our programs shall not exceed the amount of fees you paid for the specific course in question.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Sterling Finance, its facilitators, and staff harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of our services.
11. Privacy and Data Protection
Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Material changes will be communicated via:
- Email notification to enrolled participants
- Website notice for 30 days
- Updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of revised terms.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
13.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Singapore courts.
13.2 Informal Resolution
Before initiating formal proceedings, we encourage participants to contact us to seek informal resolution of disputes.
13.3 Mediation
If informal resolution is unsuccessful, parties agree to attempt mediation through a mutually agreed mediator in Singapore before pursuing litigation.
14. General Provisions
14.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Sterling Finance regarding our services.
14.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force.
14.3 Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
14.4 Assignment
You may not transfer or assign your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights without restriction.
